So here we again, at the beginning of a new year, k wait!
Second month of the new year, seems my timing is off. We draw up all these resolutions and make a list of goals to achieve on a yearly, but do we achieve them or strive towards them or do we forget them along the way as the days pass us by?
Hmm, a lot of us plan big in January, we make pro and con lists, we draw up lengthy lists of what we would like to achieve, or we add up the resolutions we failed to complete the previous year and think we could do them better this year. So, who are we fooling?
I have taken the this year with a twist rather than a stir. I took a personal decision to give up on resolutions and on drawing up yearly goals and pro and con lists as it makes no business sense to me. I will take a different approach to my year and this is my take on it:

Hmm, a lot of us plan big in January, we make pro and con lists, we draw up lengthy lists of what we would like to achieve, or we add up the resolutions we failed to complete the previous year and think we could do them better this year. So, who are we fooling?
I have taken the this year with a twist rather than a stir. I took a personal decision to give up on resolutions and on drawing up yearly goals and pro and con lists as it makes no business sense to me. I will take a different approach to my year and this is my take on it:
- I'm not planning anything huge, I want this year to teach me a few new things.
- I refuse to be ruled by structure and time frames.
- I want to venture, road trip and try all sorts of variations to the norm.
I know my ideas may leave me in total disarray, with no organization and completely scatter brain. Well, its worth it if i get to learn something new with in the mess and havoc. My decision is based purely on my dislike for the rat race we knowingly or unknowingly run in Johannesburg. We always strap for time and racing from one end to the other looking like a freshly rinsed fowl at the end of each day.
I have come to point of despising the daily routine and the daily errands, and structure that makes me hate waking up from bed each morning. As much as we all like to hear the sound of the ocean, the chirping of the birds and the smell of fresh air sweep through the room when we wake each day, unfortunately being in the city, means waking to hooters and cars grumbling and the loud chatter of people.
So why not change, that is my thought for the year, change my mindset, change my routine and change my organization and structure for havoc and disarray.
Well, in the decisions to create madness within my life, change to my blog and feed will be evident. I will no longer be scratching my head and blogging weekly to keep my feed up to date and on time, but blog when I feel inspired to write lengthy stories of note. My social media feeds will still be relevant to my career in fashion and beauty and will still be updated often rather than not. The feed will contain less of structured picture perfect life, but rather capture moments to remember.
I will definitely keep one and all updated on how this decisions have worked and failed at the same time.
Well onto the month of "LOVE", stores capitalize on the idea of buying the perfect gift, to regain lost love. They market chocolates, roses and perfumes as the perfect gift. Women go into depression if they don't receive anything and men become heartless if they rejected. Why have we become gullible, naive and childlike in our adulthood? Yes, we all want to be shown love, and TLC and yes, we all want to feel like we mean something to someone, and yes, we do not think words are enough. But, do we need a dozen red roses and heart shaped chocolates to prove it? Well, that's tradition and again, I don't fall part of that category naturally, I prefer spring bouquets, served with masala tea and laddoos any day, then again I'm Indian.
Well, my view on this month; we should side line the need for love from a partner, companion or a friend, instead focus on self love. We are so obsessed with the limelight and life that lives up to social media standards that, we forget who we are, and what we want to be in life. We tend to loose our direction as we move along life, to please others, or live in the norms of social lights but it's time we all back step and find our true nature and being before we move forward.Use this month to find the real you, keep your feet grounded and embrace yourself as a whole. Love life, love you and love being who you are.
I know I will definitely be indulging in self-love and appreciation and will be sharing my views along the way. I see it as learning the cha-cha to my song rather than a pause on the radio.
