Benefit Cosmetics

With spring finally here, invites the launch of Benefit Cosmetics in South Africa. I cannot put my excitement into words, I am super excited this brand returned to South Africa.

I missed it the first time around as they were stocked in Woolworths and pulled out of South Africa in 2012. I’ve seen their products on websites, Instagram and Youtube videos, but I was always too scared to have them shipped to SA and being slapped with high duty tax costs.
Reading older South African reviews though, I’m scared at what the prices will be. For instance, in 2012, the Cha Cha Tint (Mango Lip & Cheek Stain) was priced at R315. On the Benefit website today, it’s priced at $30 and after factoring in 14% tax and profit mark ups, I’m hoping I’ll be able to walk out with an impressive.

This time around, Benefit is setting up fort in selected Edgars and Red Square stores. So far there are only Johannesburg & Cape Town selected stores but I’m sure they’ll be rolling out nationwide very soon.

So now on to my wishlist since its my birthday month.

My first pick would definitely have been the POREfessional Primer that so many people rave about.

I would really like to try out the They’re Real Lengthening Mascara and Roller Lash Mascara to curl my super straight lashes. Trust me I’m not exaggerating.
And I’m a sucker for highlighters so I’ve got my eye on the High Beam and Girl Meets Pearl Luminizer.
And lastly from the amazing brow products and gorgeous blushes something fresh and bright for spring. That’s my wishlist for now… oh!  One day…

I really hope the selection of Benefit products are vast so I can try out a few different things but if you would like to see all their products you can head on over to their website.

LOTS OF LOVE!

Do we know what our skin requires? I want to take you along on a journey of “Great Makeup begins With Great Skin” Makeup is meant to enhance your best features, not cover them. The first thing people should notice when they look at you is how radiant and gorgeous you look, not your makeup. More often than not, less is more when it comes to makeup, but for most of us, wearing less makeup is easier done when you have great skin. Few people have naturally perfect skin. The condition of the skin changes from day to day and season to season, but you can always improve it by taking good care of yourself. Beautiful skin begins with a healthy lifestyle. Oooh!, not all of us are on that track yet, especially not me. Skincare basics include: 1.   Nutrition -your diet has a direct impact on not on...

The Shiseido 7 Color Powders Revival Centennial Edition

Move over... Creamy  color  correctors! There's a new set of skin-evening formulas in town, and they now come in powder form.    Allow me to introduce you to the just-launched Shiseido 7 Color Powders Revival Centennial Edition set, which features,  count 'em ,  seven color-correcting powders. In honor of Shiseido's O.G. Rainbow Beauty Powder, which launched in 1917 almost 100 years ago , the beauty giant just dropped a gorgeous, limited-edition set of color-correcting powders, all neatly packaged in small satin cream-colored boxes reminiscent of sweet little  engagement ring  boxes. Sadly, no sparklers were stashed in these mini cases. Like other color correctors on the market, these powders are designed to cover specific issues. So, for example, white, which should be applied to the T-zone, brightens; yellow evens out the complexion all over; beige smooths texture; rose, which should be brushed on the apples of ...
