Ever Beauty

I personally have never heard of Ever Beauty® South Africa , till I had come across the advert on Instagram. As a beauty and makeup addict, I was eager to see what the brand had to offer and if it was something to get excited about.  The brand was looking for brand ambassadors and MUA's to try out their products.

This is what the founder has to say about the brand:

"Ever Beauty® South Africa offers affordable, quality & professional makeup formulated to compliment the diverse range of skin tones across Southern Africa. The Ever Beauty® brand is all about using makeup as a platform to embrace peoples’ unique differences as well as inspire everyone to embark on the Ever Beauty® journey of capturing, owning and proudly embracing their own beauty."

I had browsed their site and their products before signing up for their MUA starter kit, not looking at their pricing, because, at that point I wasn't interested in purchasing. I received an email recently with a code to shop to the value of R 500-00. I literally laughed and said foundation alone is R 450-00. Never the less I logged on to their site, signed up and browsed their products, and their prices were reasonable and completely affordable.

I carefully went through their shopping page to view their products and color range of shadows and blush and shades available in their concealer and foundation ranges. Their color ranges are large and versatile for all skin tones, but I was more curious to try their something that fits into my everyday life and routine. My skin has become a lot more dryer in the colder months and has been flaking a bit around my nose area, which made most foundations look flaky and patchy. I opted to try the Oil primer, for dry skin and it said non-greasy on the packaging which was a bonus. I also wanted to try their press powders, to test if its a light to medium coverage, the durability and compatibility with dry skin and the weather, and because at time it's the easiest solution before a meeting. Lastly I choose the phantom eyeliner, quick dry and jet black. A product i cant live without even if I'm sick.

I was excited, placed the order and didn't pay a cent, shipping is free for orders over R350-00, and my order was under R500-00 and I used my MUA voucher to pay. The delivery was at my office in 24 hours and I super excited to unwrap and see what all it had to offer, that I did it immediately at my work desk. The products are packed in a white box, that just screams open me but also fresh elegance and new beginnings.

I was surprised to find a little Ever Beauty® South Africa purse in the packaged filled with 6 mini samples of the Matte Lip gloss and the 8 Matte Liquid Foundation. So thrilled by the added extras to try out and experiment with.

Here I have swatches the Matte Liquid Lip Gloss, they glide on easily, they color range is simple yet compatible with all skin tones. The Lip Gloss is moisturizing but takes a minute or 2 to settle on. If you touch it too early it tends to smudge or look messy.

This the condition of my skin currently, lots of acne scars, scars from picking at my skin and pigmentation, terrible bags under my eyes from lack of sleep, or broken sleep and dry around the nose area and eyebrow area. Not totally friendly skin and not totally impossible to work with.

This is an image i took, after using the oil primer and the Pressed powder, in a shade 3. The oil primer, is easy to use and is non-greasy and settles in pretty easily into the skin. Its very liquid, not the texture of oil, or face oil, so I spilled a bit as I removed it from the bottle. The pressed powder is a light to medium coverage, has no sponge to apply, so I used a beauty blender to apply to my face. It blends in pretty face and settles down. It doesn't separate or cake on the skin.

This was the same make-up 5 hours later after lunch. The press powder held the coverage, settled into my smile lines and under my eyes, which I had to blend out twice for the day, but that is normal as I used just powder. I also used the jet black liner, The Phantom eyeliner, the sponge brush is not my all time favorite, I prefer a bristle brush to apply liner, it glides and shapes easier, but that is personal preference. The liner is quick dry and lasted all day, but came off as plastic strips when I washed my face that evening, not really happy about it but that is the liquid liner, maybe the gel liner is different. I will try it and review it at a later stage.

2 weeks later I tried the Matte liquid foundation in shade 2, 3, 4. I wanted to experience if they would blend, tone and look like a highlighted and contoured look by using 3 shades at once. It was easy to blend the shades together, under the eye definitely needs a concealer and color corrector, the foundation cannot be used on its own. The foundation tends to need a touch up if you in the car too long or in the heat skin looks shiny rather than matte. The foundation is one I would use for casual functions, but I'm yet to be convinced it's durable for formal glamour looks. I will be purchasing the concealer and color corrector of the brand, with other items as well to test further and try out.

One should definitely look up their page, get familiar with the product and if you into affordable makeup, it's worth a try.  My venture with Ever Beauty® South Africa ain't over yet, more reviews and looks will be added in as the products are tested.

Xoxo

The power of the Haldi Ubtan

Lil spice never stop the sun from shining... 😂😂😂 In my previous post named "Turmeric for clear, bright and acne free skin" posted on the mid 2017, are some variations to this haldi ubtan, used for various skin types and conditions. I have been using and speaking about 'Turmeric Masks" before most people  and companies have been investing time and testing into turmeric and it's properties.. The new craze is the 'Golden magic of turmeric', and people are buying into it, without knowing the history and origin of it.  Here's a bit of Background: 5000 years ago on the Indian subcontinent, men and women took care of their skin and hair during rituals connected with religion.   In the ancient   Ayurveda   tradition, face and body masks called  U btan   were applied and adjusted according to the season. Ubtan masks are in fact the very first cosmetic product ever used in the world. Ubtan is a mix of various herbs, plants, roots and flowers

An update on havoc or maybe not, PART 2

Here, I thought part 2 would be typed and rolled out in no time, but, it's clearly no surprise that I have slacked and the release is so delayed.  I thought I'd give the havoc and unorganized lifestyle a bit more time and space to spill out in front of me before I give the verdict. Let me down right honest,  "I CANNOT DO THIS ANY LONGER!" I have seen the passed few months literally spill out at me, from unplanned events, to last minute clothing shopping and unexpected set backs, taking me a back. I prefer my daily to be more organised and structured to fit in time  for everything, I plan out months in advance if my wardrobe would need updating and changes, I am hands on with events and coordinating them accordingly, I normally can handle moments of unexpectedness if they rare. I have realized I'm too much of a controller and planner, I need to be organised and well prepared, to allow the unexpected to happen, I'm not one who loves to be surprised
