Obsessed

I have always been captivated by females, who's hair had more volume than my radio and more bounce than my step. It was a serious state of affairs, when your hair is fine and sleek and falls flat after 2 hours of an expensive professional salon blow dry. Such disappointment! I have tons of hair tools, from straighteners, to curling thongs and even old fashion Carmen curlers, but none could give me the effect I was looking for.

I needed to add some spunk to my hair to mach the colors I have been experimenting with lately.

I sourced out products online looking for the best for my hair type and the length and to achieve the desired look without any fuss. I had followed Pro Blo for a year, read reviews and watched tutorials to keep updated. I had followed YouTube videos on actual purchases to ensure the product was authentic. I was disappointed to find out they don't ship to South Africa and had to start looking at more sites for similar products.

I stumbled across obsessed_xo Instagram page, who at that time was hosting a giveaway on their page for the obsessed volume brush set. It seemed so perfect, the timing the aura and the vibe and it was just what I needed.  I had entered the competition, as I always do with all beauty and fashion competitions and don't ever win. Rinse. lather and repeat.

After much deliberation with my inner self and how badly I wanted these brushes versus the costing (R899-00, excluding courier) I was in doubt. After all the research I had done for over a year, and in depth watching of tutorials and videos I found myself 2 minded, shocking I know. At the beginning of August I needed a serious pick me up session of shopping therapy to solve the bad vibes. I DM obsessed_xo, they responded immediately and answered all my queries and within 24 hours I had purchased the Obsessed volume brush set, and the surprising part is that the very next morning it was on my desk at work waiting. It had been delivered over night.

So excited I had to try it out to see if it was worth the splurge and spoiling.
2x large barrels
2x medium barrels
2x small barrels
6x claw clips
2x flat clips
1x brush
1x barrel handle
I just couldn't wait to try them out and see the results. I wanted to know if I'd have luscious volume with voluminous curls, if my hair's figure was off the radar.

The instructions are pretty simple and you can either blow inwards or outwards depending on the effect you'd like for the day. So I rolled them in, actually outwards, clipped them up and allowed them to cool at their own pace. The convenient thing about leaving them to cool, it allows you time to do other things. The barrels don't move or wobble around if they clipped in correctly, so they give you freedom to move around. I managed to eat, change my outfit and do my eyeliner before they were ready to be removed.  I hate sitting and curling with a curling thong, it's time consuming especially when your hair is long and thick and layered. I love the art of multi-tasking, and especially when you strapped for time, or maybe it's just female nature.

Then came the moment I was waiting for, the unraveling and the big reveal.I was so excited I slowly unraveled each barrel and twisted the hair and tossed back, as I did the next. I had hair with volume, and curls (I didn't care in which direction the curls were going, as long as they were there) and it looked like I had been in a salon under a dryer with volume Velcro rollers. This hair-do was amazing. I was so happy with the bouncy curls and the volume without any additional products.

The color of my hair was visible and looked exactly like it was intended to. It was worth the splurge, At this point I was so amazed and obsessed, yes their name is exactly the feeling you have after using their products, you obsessed with the outcome. The true reflection of the product would be, if it lasted in my hair the entire day.

After an entire day out and a bout and through gustily August winds, the curls dropped slightly but the volume was still holding up in full force. I don't blame the product at all, for the curls dropping, I tested without adding any additional products or hairspray, as I was testing the product and it capabilities. I have unfortunately no picture from later that day to post up, but I will be doing a follow up review on the brushes and I'll make sure to add in a time frame of pictures.

My final thoughts in all honesty, Obsessed_xo , thrives on customer service, they were speedy in answering my queries even though I was unsure on purchasing, once I was ready to purchase details were furnished and the product was delivered in less than 24 hours. They sent follow up DMs to ensure I received my product, if I was happy and satisfied and encouraged picture posting of their products. They give 5% of each purchase to AID International. So the splurge was for a good cause as well. At least I don't feel that bad about the price now. Definitely a page to look up, and definitely worth the shopping experience.

The power of the Haldi Ubtan

Lil spice never stop the sun from shining... 😂😂😂 In my previous post named "Turmeric for clear, bright and acne free skin" posted on the mid 2017, are some variations to this haldi ubtan, used for various skin types and conditions. I have been using and speaking about 'Turmeric Masks" before most people  and companies have been investing time and testing into turmeric and it's properties.. The new craze is the 'Golden magic of turmeric', and people are buying into it, without knowing the history and origin of it.  Here's a bit of Background: 5000 years ago on the Indian subcontinent, men and women took care of their skin and hair during rituals connected with religion.   In the ancient   Ayurveda   tradition, face and body masks called  U btan   were applied and adjusted according to the season. Ubtan masks are in fact the very first cosmetic product ever used in the world. Ubtan is a mix of various herbs, plants, roots and flowers

An update on havoc or maybe not, PART 2

Here, I thought part 2 would be typed and rolled out in no time, but, it's clearly no surprise that I have slacked and the release is so delayed.  I thought I'd give the havoc and unorganized lifestyle a bit more time and space to spill out in front of me before I give the verdict. Let me down right honest,  "I CANNOT DO THIS ANY LONGER!" I have seen the passed few months literally spill out at me, from unplanned events, to last minute clothing shopping and unexpected set backs, taking me a back. I prefer my daily to be more organised and structured to fit in time  for everything, I plan out months in advance if my wardrobe would need updating and changes, I am hands on with events and coordinating them accordingly, I normally can handle moments of unexpectedness if they rare. I have realized I'm too much of a controller and planner, I need to be organised and well prepared, to allow the unexpected to happen, I'm not one who loves to be surprised
