“Great Makeup begins With Great Skin”

Makeup, as girls we long for the day to finally wear our own makeup, but do we understand the use of it? Do we realize the perfect makeup look is achieved from great skincare? Do we know what our skin requires? I want to take you along on a journey of
“Great Makeup begins
With Great Skin”

Makeup is meant to enhance your best features, not cover them. The first thing people should notice when they look at you is how radiant and gorgeous you look, not your makeup.

More often than not, less is more when it comes to makeup, but for most of us, wearing less makeup is easier done when you have great skin. Few people have naturally perfect skin. The condition of the skin changes from day to day and season to season, but you can always improve it by taking good care of yourself.

Beautiful skin begins with a healthy lifestyle. Oooh!, not all of us are on that track yet, especially not me. Skincare basics include:

1.  Nutrition -your diet has a direct impact on not only your overall health and how you feel, but also on how you look. The health of your skin begins with good nutrition. New, living cells continually replace the dead cells on the surface of the skin. The growth of new cells is dependent on vitamins, minerals and hydration.-eat at least 5 servings of fresh fruits and vegetables every day-also include whole-grain foods, nuts, fish, and beans in your diet. -they are all foods rich in zinc, which promotes healing and reduces inflammation in the body.

2.  Hydration -our bodies are 80% water. Without sufficient hydration the cells become dry and flaky. To keep the body and skin hydrated, eat foods with high water content such as: fruits, vegetables, and clear soups, and drink at least 8 glasses of water per day. Limit your intake of coffee and other drinks containing caffeine, as well as alcohol, as they are diuretics that remove water from the body and block the absorption of vitamins and minerals.
3.  Exercise -raising the heart rate through vigorous exercise increases blood flow, brings more oxygen to the skin, and cleanses impurities from the body through sweat. Just 20-30 minutes of exercise per day is enough to help boost your immune system, reduce stress, lower blood pressure, strengthen your heart, build stronger bones, increase your energy level, and improve your mood. With regular exercise, you build lean muscle mass and raise your metabolism. Since the metabolism slows with age, exercise is fundamental to weight management.
4.  Sleep -sleep is the time when your body heals itself. This is when your cells have a chance to repair and regenerate. Sleep deprivation stresses all of the body’s systems, including the skin. Without enough sleep the skin becomes less elastic and prone to outbreaks of acne or rashes.-try applying plenty of eye-cream around your eyes before going to bed, to wake up with less puffiness around the eyes in the morning.-washing your face with cold water in the morning acts as a natural toner for your face, not to mention it helps to wake up! -be sure not to overload on face washes either, as too much of a good thing can actually irritate your skin more than help it!
5.  Sun -excess sun exposure is skin’s #1 enemy. It causes premature aging, including wrinkles, loss of elasticity, and hyperpigmentation. -always remember to wear SPF under your every-day makeup!-try an every-day moisturizer with SPF under your makeup, or simply replace your every-day morning moisturizer with an oil-free sunblock. There are some great unscented, brands out there. I use Nivea Sun block SPF 50+. It’s fragrance-free and leaves skin with a matted look that’s perfect before applying makeup. Wearing moisturizer and sunblock might be too heavy and may leave you looking greasy as well as making it difficult for the makeup to hold, so I recommend choosing one or the other.
6.  Smoke and alcohol -smoke and alcohol robs your skin of oxygen and dehydrates it which causes you to age prematurely, and also causes the skin to look dull and gray over time. With low levels of oxygen, they skin loses elasticity, which leads to sagging and wrinkling. -you will notice as you get older that it is much easier to spot people who have drunk and smoked their entire lives. They definitely look much older than they really are!!
7.     Exfoliate!!! -exfoliating your face is like dusting your house. It’s not going to look clean and shiny unless you clean the layer of dust (dead skin) over it from time to time, so always remember to exfoliate your face 2-3 times a week for a radiant and fresh appearance!

The power of the Haldi Ubtan

Lil spice never stop the sun from shining... 😂😂😂 In my previous post named "Turmeric for clear, bright and acne free skin" posted on the mid 2017, are some variations to this haldi ubtan, used for various skin types and conditions. I have been using and speaking about 'Turmeric Masks" before most people  and companies have been investing time and testing into turmeric and it's properties.. The new craze is the 'Golden magic of turmeric', and people are buying into it, without knowing the history and origin of it.  Here's a bit of Background: 5000 years ago on the Indian subcontinent, men and women took care of their skin and hair during rituals connected with religion.   In the ancient   Ayurveda   tradition, face and body masks called  U btan   were applied and adjusted according to the season. Ubtan masks are in fact the very first cosmetic product ever used in the world. Ubtan is a mix of various herbs, plants, roots and flowers

An update on havoc or maybe not, PART 2

Here, I thought part 2 would be typed and rolled out in no time, but, it's clearly no surprise that I have slacked and the release is so delayed.  I thought I'd give the havoc and unorganized lifestyle a bit more time and space to spill out in front of me before I give the verdict. Let me down right honest,  "I CANNOT DO THIS ANY LONGER!" I have seen the passed few months literally spill out at me, from unplanned events, to last minute clothing shopping and unexpected set backs, taking me a back. I prefer my daily to be more organised and structured to fit in time  for everything, I plan out months in advance if my wardrobe would need updating and changes, I am hands on with events and coordinating them accordingly, I normally can handle moments of unexpectedness if they rare. I have realized I'm too much of a controller and planner, I need to be organised and well prepared, to allow the unexpected to happen, I'm not one who loves to be surprised
