An update on havoc, or maybe not... PART 1

OMG, This was typed out and I forgot to post it. So, as promised I would give an update on my new take on life for 2018. One month down the line and I have no words to associate with this way of life. It had strong points, weak points and points of pure surprise. Being un-ruled by uniformity and time limits, self given freedom, made days go by with such bliss. I would go to work and eat at odd times, do work in my own time and realized I worked better working at my own pace with no background harping from management behind me. How did I get management to back off my case, I didn't do it intentionally, it was a random out burst of frustration. I was handed a project to handle with a 2 day tight time frame, and, me going through a phase of rebellious change was not going to keep to this time frame, unless I truly wanted to, which at that point I didn't want to. I had brainstormed ideas and methods of completion of the work and choosing the quickest way forward. It was ...

Celebrating 2018 and the month of love

So here we again, at the beginning of a new year, k wait!  Second month of the new year, seems my timing is off.  We draw up all these resolutions and make a list of goals to achieve on a yearly, but do we achieve them or strive towards them or do we forget them along the way as the days pass us by? Hmm, a lot of us plan big in January, we make pro and con lists, we draw up lengthy lists of what we would like to achieve, or we add up the resolutions we failed to complete the previous year and think we could do them better this year.  So, who are we fooling? I have taken the this year with a twist rather than a stir. I took a personal decision to give up on resolutions and on drawing up yearly goals and pro and con lists as it makes no business sense to me. I will take a different approach to my year and this is my take on it: I'm not planning anything huge, I want this year to teach me a few new things. I refuse to be ruled by structure and time frames. I wan...

Alluring Lush

I always walked in and out or just pass the door of a Lush store 100 times, for the aroma of their products. Wish there was a way that i could post it up on my blog, but, there isn't you will have to make a visit to the store to understand the  magical spell of the fragrances that roam the Lush store. It is addictive and heavenly of pure indulgence, seems wrong to lust over a heavenly smell but, you just do with Lush. I am a fan of their Bath bombs and their shower jellies and have been using them for months on and off, as a personal treat to myself. Lately, Lush had launched the jelly masks and the hair treatments, the promos had me intrigued. I dragged my partner in crime to the store In Rosebank Mall, for a look around, tester and to purchase a few of these new items to put on trial. He isn't one for shopping and standing in stores for long periods of time, he's such an online shopper, but, online shopping doesn't give you the Lush lust unless you hit by the fra...

Mystique Galaxy Palette Part 2…

After my swatch review, I have decided to do a glamour ballet look using the Mystique Galaxy Palette to create the look. I picked on accents and colors from my choker as the bases of my inspiration for my look. Using the following colors I have created this eye candy. My second look was completely the opposite, no story or inspiration it was purely for color shock. To ensure that the product could handle the need for color and pigmentation and that it will endure the pressure of the weather and photography.  The colors used for this look My final verdict is that, the palette is a cheaper version to the Jaclyn Hill Morphe Set and it is color intense and can give results if a   primer is used. The palette, it has a good color range with many popping ideas to create. I do find that there are 2 to 3 colors that have disappointed me as I have indicated in my previous post on this palette. The eye shadow...

Cleanse redefined

Our lives are flooded but not by rain or water, we drown in our lifestyles. We have work, gym, families to run and we have too look flawless doing it. The key is looking ' on point ' for more than 18 hours a day. The stress and strain can drain our skins completely leaving us to shrivel up like prunes. In previous posts I have ventured through DIY face treatments and face masks that I have personally tried. I have given insight to achieving perfect makeup from good skin care. My skin takes a toll from the make-up and the strain of a busy lifestyle too. I also have old acne scars and I used to love picking at my skin when it had pimples so the scars have remained.  I have pigmentation marks that are now surfacing. Being female with all of these demands are taxing on one, taxing on me. I am certainly not flawless but I do care extra for my skin. I have come across the Skin Republic range, I have read reviews but have not tried it till now. Stores: Dichem, Edgars, Cl...

Freedom

Freedom Makeup was all new to me by brand and by product, being skeptical I had purchased the Glow Ambient and Brighten highlighter to test and trial.  They are priced at R85-00, which is reasonable. I have put it to trial on 2 occasions, a formal and a casual occasion to allow the product a fair chance.   Formal  versus   Casual The product is a large size, it is not powdery or messy. It is easy to apply using a fan brush or your fingers. The glow is radiant and natural and illuminates in the light. It is a highlighter I have begun to love and my all new favorite. The color is perfect with my truly Indian skin tone, depending on the mood and the event one can achieve a golden glow or a rose gold vintage finish. Perfect highlighter to aid those dull and gloomy days. A brand I now have faith in and trust their quality, that, I have already placed further product orde...
