Alluring Lush

I always walked in and out or just pass the door of a Lush store 100 times, for the aroma of their products. Wish there was a way that i could post it up on my blog, but, there isn't you will have to make a visit to the store to understand the  magical spell of the fragrances that roam the Lush store. It is addictive and heavenly of pure indulgence, seems wrong to lust over a heavenly smell but, you just do with Lush.

I am a fan of their Bath bombs and their shower jellies and have been using them for months on and off, as a personal treat to myself. Lately, Lush had launched the jelly masks and the hair treatments, the promos had me intrigued.

I dragged my partner in crime to the store In Rosebank Mall, for a look around, tester and to purchase a few of these new items to put on trial. He isn't one for shopping and standing in stores for long periods of time, he's such an online shopper, but, online shopping doesn't give you the Lush lust unless you hit by the fragrance of indulgence. The fragrance and the item displays of Lush had him hooked. He even tried feeding me a cupcake face masks, the horror, lol.

I purchased a few items from the store and this review is based on the jelly face mask

The birth of Venus

Retails at :R145-00
Available: online and in store
Range: Face, Body, make-up
Perks: Vegan approved, against animal cruelty and handmade
Website: https://za.lush.com

The birth of Venus jelly face mask, has light and milk jelly texture, smooth on the touch and an alluring smell of the ocean. I did the basic cleanse and exfoliation and then rubbed the mask between my fingers and applied it to my face. The application was easy and the instructions clear. Felt like a jelly fish waiting for the time to pass me by.

The product is for combination skin and assists in skin balancing, after 2 uses over 2 weeks, I can give an honest verdict. The first week my face felt soft and smooth but the oil build up was a lot more than i was use to on my T-zone, the sun burnt and dry areas were peeling and I felt uneasy about my skin and the product. I gave it a second try and boy oh boy was I impressed. My skin tone is evening out and the skin is finding a balance, my T-zone is not as oily as previously mentioned and my normal to dry areas feel more moisturized.  the areas that peeled the previous week are not blemished or burnt, they my natural skin tone.

So Lush is alluring for its scent but they are vegan approved and against animal cruelty which is a bonus. Well for added value their products are handmade, which means it has that personal touch. Lush runs a recycle promo, which is, if you collect 5 empty containers and return to the store you can receive a free face mask. Lush has so many reasons to make you come back to their store and I definitely want to live in one of them.

xoxo

The power of the Haldi Ubtan

Lil spice never stop the sun from shining... 😂😂😂 In my previous post named "Turmeric for clear, bright and acne free skin" posted on the mid 2017, are some variations to this haldi ubtan, used for various skin types and conditions. I have been using and speaking about 'Turmeric Masks" before most people  and companies have been investing time and testing into turmeric and it's properties.. The new craze is the 'Golden magic of turmeric', and people are buying into it, without knowing the history and origin of it.  Here's a bit of Background: 5000 years ago on the Indian subcontinent, men and women took care of their skin and hair during rituals connected with religion.   In the ancient   Ayurveda   tradition, face and body masks called  U btan   were applied and adjusted according to the season. Ubtan masks are in fact the very first cosmetic product ever used in the world. Ubtan is a mix of various herbs, plants, roots and flowers

An update on havoc or maybe not, PART 2

Here, I thought part 2 would be typed and rolled out in no time, but, it's clearly no surprise that I have slacked and the release is so delayed.  I thought I'd give the havoc and unorganized lifestyle a bit more time and space to spill out in front of me before I give the verdict. Let me down right honest,  "I CANNOT DO THIS ANY LONGER!" I have seen the passed few months literally spill out at me, from unplanned events, to last minute clothing shopping and unexpected set backs, taking me a back. I prefer my daily to be more organised and structured to fit in time  for everything, I plan out months in advance if my wardrobe would need updating and changes, I am hands on with events and coordinating them accordingly, I normally can handle moments of unexpectedness if they rare. I have realized I'm too much of a controller and planner, I need to be organised and well prepared, to allow the unexpected to happen, I'm not one who loves to be surprised
