The power of the Haldi Ubtan

Lil spice never stop the sun from shining... 😂😂😂 In my previous post named "Turmeric for clear, bright and acne free skin" posted on the mid 2017, are some variations to this haldi ubtan, used for various skin types and conditions. I have been using and speaking about 'Turmeric Masks" before most people  and companies have been investing time and testing into turmeric and it's properties.. The new craze is the 'Golden magic of turmeric', and people are buying into it, without knowing the history and origin of it.  Here's a bit of Background: 5000 years ago on the Indian subcontinent, men and women took care of their skin and hair during rituals connected with religion.   In the ancient   Ayurveda   tradition, face and body masks called  U btan   were applied and adjusted according to the season. Ubtan masks are in fact the very first cosmetic product ever used in the world. Ubtan is a mix of various herbs, plants, roots and flowers

An update on havoc or maybe not, PART 2

Here, I thought part 2 would be typed and rolled out in no time, but, it's clearly no surprise that I have slacked and the release is so delayed.  I thought I'd give the havoc and unorganized lifestyle a bit more time and space to spill out in front of me before I give the verdict. Let me down right honest,  "I CANNOT DO THIS ANY LONGER!" I have seen the passed few months literally spill out at me, from unplanned events, to last minute clothing shopping and unexpected set backs, taking me a back. I prefer my daily to be more organised and structured to fit in time  for everything, I plan out months in advance if my wardrobe would need updating and changes, I am hands on with events and coordinating them accordingly, I normally can handle moments of unexpectedness if they rare. I have realized I'm too much of a controller and planner, I need to be organised and well prepared, to allow the unexpected to happen, I'm not one who loves to be surprised

Justine Tissue Oil Review 4 week round up

I was chosen by Rubybox to part take in the Justine tissue oil 4 week challenge, after completing a survey and submitting a picture of my sports and DIY scars on my legs. They were the one thing that put me off from wearing shorts and skirts as an adult, as they were dark and made me feel so conscious at all times.  Before I would see ladies in the work place and in mall embrace their scars of war, but I just couldn't. I couldn't be one of those ladies who wore her best dress without feeling odd about the scars on my legs. I would either try and cover them up with foundation and pressed powder or I'd wait for overcast and winter days to wear stockings, to hide them.  After 2 weeks of using the tissue oil twice a day on the scared area, I have noticed drastic lightening of the marks. I have now decided to get tissue oil for the face, to help lighten the pigmentation marks and acne scars.  BEFORE It is non-greasy and easy to use. the smell is inviting an

Ever Beauty

I personally have never heard of  Ever Beauty® South Africa  , till I had come across the advert on Instagram. As a beauty and makeup addict, I was eager to see what the brand had to offer and if it was something to get excited about.  The brand was looking for brand ambassadors and MUA's to try out their products.  This is what the founder has to say about the brand:  "Ever Beauty® South Africa offers affordable, quality & professional makeup formulated to compliment the diverse range of skin tones across Southern Africa. The Ever Beauty® brand is all about using makeup as a platform to embrace peoples’ unique differences as well as inspire everyone to embark on the Ever Beauty® journey of capturing, owning and proudly embracing their own beauty." I had browsed their site and their products before signing up for their MUA starter kit, not looking at their pricing, because, at that point I wasn't interested in purchasing. I received an email recently

Obsessed

I have always been captivated by females, who's hair had more volume than my radio and more bounce than my step. It was a serious state of affairs, when your hair is fine and sleek and falls flat after 2 hours of an expensive professional salon blow dry. Such disappointment! I have tons of hair tools, from straighteners, to curling thongs and even old fashion Carmen curlers, but none could give me the effect I was looking for. I needed to add some spunk to my hair to mach the colors I have been experimenting with lately. I sourced out products online looking for the best for my hair type and the length and to achieve the desired look without any fuss. I had followed Pro Blo for a year, read reviews and watched tutorials to keep updated. I had followed YouTube videos on actual purchases to ensure the product was authentic. I was disappointed to find out they don't ship to South Africa and had to start looking at more sites for similar products. I stumbled across o

2 Week update, with Dove

After  the minimum test period of 2 weeks, I needed to give an update on the Dove duo, I received through Rubybox. It's not just about the brand and product, but it's about the experience and the effects of this duo. From my previous post, it was clear my hair is color treated and required additional TLC. to be honest I'm not one who constantly styles my hair or blow drys it, or curls it, I'm more of a wash and wear person. Seriously, it's not out of laziness, my hair does take time to dry but I also do not like heat styling it too often, as it causes a large amount of damage. (No one said color treatments don't damage hair, but, that's a debate for another post.) I prefer products that nourishes, doesn't strip my color, yet leaving my hair glossy and healthy. After of using the Dove shampoo and conditioner duo, for the 2 weeks , I have seen tremendous change in the texture, shine and strength of my hair. My hair, being color treated, and light

DOVE: THE ABSOLUTE SOLUTION

I was amazed and excited to be chosen for the Dove Nutritive Solutions Intensive Repair Shampoo and Conditioner Review, I receive my Dove Hamper, along with added extra goods, that I love, packaged in a cute organza bag.    I am a women, who juggles time, and has just enough time for a wash and wear. My hair is color treated and tends to dry out from over washing, at times it looks frail from tying it up most of the time.  The first wash was intriguing experience, the product is soft on my hair and detangles at the same time. After the first wash my hair was shiny, soft and looked a lot more vibrant. I do not heat style my hair often so will put it to the test in the next week.  I'm eager to see the continued progress of using the Intensive Repair Shampoo & Conditioner and will post updates. Thank you Dove and Rubybox. xoxo M!ss Wiss... #rubybox #DoveHairSA #ConfidentlyYou #DoveHairGameChanger

An update on havoc, or maybe not... PART 1

OMG, This was typed out and I forgot to post it. So, as promised I would give an update on my new take on life for 2018. One month down the line and I have no words to associate with this way of life. It had strong points, weak points and points of pure surprise. Being un-ruled by uniformity and time limits, self given freedom, made days go by with such bliss. I would go to work and eat at odd times, do work in my own time and realized I worked better working at my own pace with no background harping from management behind me. How did I get management to back off my case, I didn't do it intentionally, it was a random out burst of frustration. I was handed a project to handle with a 2 day tight time frame, and, me going through a phase of rebellious change was not going to keep to this time frame, unless I truly wanted to, which at that point I didn't want to. I had brainstormed ideas and methods of completion of the work and choosing the quickest way forward. It was

Celebrating 2018 and the month of love

So here we again, at the beginning of a new year, k wait!  Second month of the new year, seems my timing is off.  We draw up all these resolutions and make a list of goals to achieve on a yearly, but do we achieve them or strive towards them or do we forget them along the way as the days pass us by? Hmm, a lot of us plan big in January, we make pro and con lists, we draw up lengthy lists of what we would like to achieve, or we add up the resolutions we failed to complete the previous year and think we could do them better this year.  So, who are we fooling? I have taken the this year with a twist rather than a stir. I took a personal decision to give up on resolutions and on drawing up yearly goals and pro and con lists as it makes no business sense to me. I will take a different approach to my year and this is my take on it: I'm not planning anything huge, I want this year to teach me a few new things. I refuse to be ruled by structure and time frames. I want to ventu
